Good question. By our calculation, #0825 should have been made in November of 72. Just checking a random VIN, 10704412006233, it’s VIN tag says 7/72. So not sure what is going on here. The photo does not look photoshopped. No real benefit to anyone doing something nefarious. Probably an error back then?
The last picture shows the VIN plate. How can #008526 have been made in 12/71? There’s something about this VIN plate that I don’t understand.
I don’t understand this car’s VIN plate. How can a 107.044 with serial number 008526 have been made in 12/71 as shown on the VIN plate? This registry describes it as a 1973 model, but that is not in agreement with the 12/71 date of manufacture.
